Description
This was a labor of love. I've been working on Chryssi on and off since December.
Part of me wants to post before and after pics just so you guys can see the amount of work that went on here. I had to do my normal bait prep, THEN carve out huge chunks of plastic to make the body more skeletal and bug like, chop off the ears and horn and sculpt new ones, increase her height, drill holes in her legs, sculpt her shell, craft her wings, and only then could I start to think about painting and rehairing. I should be running victory laps right now, people!!!
I also tried out a new sculpting material called Milliput here. It's a two part epoxy type material that air dries to rock solid after about three hours. It is AWESOME and you guys should totally test it out. (I got it at Hobby Lobby.) Her wings are made from a hacked up clear plastic accordion binder.
Queen Cheeselegs was hand painted with acrylics, sealed with Testors' Dullcote and glossy Modge Podge, and rehaired with Dollyhair's Atomic Turquoise.

Looks so much better than the official Chrysalis! Hasbro should work harder. It's like they don't even care. They just drew hole on them instead of drilling them. They didn't even put her ears back! This looks a lot better.
